Unique Photographic Liquid Emulsion Print 2 is part of an intimate small series created using silver gelatin liquid emulsion on exceptionally thin, translucent Japanese paper. This alternative darkroom technique bridges photography and painting, allowing the image to be brushed onto the surface by hand. The visible brushstrokes and delicate texture of the paper create a soft, expressive, almost floating quality that can’t be reproduced.
Because each print is coated manually, every piece is entirely unique. Even when the same image is used, the physical gesture of the brush makes repetition impossible—ensuring that the artwork you take home is truly one-of-a-kind.
This piece belongs to The Trail of Touch, an ongoing artistic and research project exploring tactile nostalgia and the haptic qualities of photographic materials. Through liquid-emulsion processes—also known as liquid light, a light-sensitive silver gelatin coating—photography is freed from the flatness of traditional prints and becomes something more physical, emotional, and handmade.
Thoughtful, affordable, and filled with the soul of the process, this artwork makes a meaningful gift for someone you love—while also supporting passionate (and perhaps slightly mad) artists like me.
